Cristina Molina

#MusicInTheAir Podcast hosts this week :
CRISTINA MOLINA (ECOAMA)

For the first Podcast of the new year, Villahangar presents a new artist who chose Ibiza as her home: Cristina Molina, dj born in Madrid.

Her long working path has clearly influenced the development of her artistic personality. For instance firstly, it was in 1998 that she decided to start her path in the mixing world.

Secondly, the seven years at the label Pink Records and thirdly the contacts with different places of the electronic scene in different places of Spain and other Countries defined her imprint.

Therefore, with 21 years of experience allowed Cristina Molina developed sensitivity and mastery, cultivating her own refined technique, capable of transmitting joy and elegance through her music, and a very personal charm.

In other words, her love for electronic music unravels between Deep, Deep-House, Deep-Tech, Minimal and Techno. A wide musical taste, that she shows during her dj sets exploring different styles.

In addiction, her nature comprehends also a solid experience in the Festival world: she took place into various events all over the world, and since 2000 se is part of the organization of Festivals in the Canary Islands, where she started her artistic activity as a dj, particularly at Eòlica and Magma.

Moreover is hers the creation and the development of a collective of five deejay women, called Pink Project.

Cristina Molina takes part into various agencies such as Klubbers-Madrid and Metempsicosis Italia, that represent her at a national and international level.

Currently she is carrying out her project AMAlive from Ibiza, developing her radio program ECOAMA (with Tania Moon) throughout the Ibiza Global Radio, every Thursday from 4pm to 5pm.

How do you live now and how did you live in the recent past this particular moment of pandemic for humanity?

The pandemic was not easy for anyone. For example I felt limited, with restrictions, without freedom, at scared at a certain point, but I never let fear overcome me. Luckily and however, I now see the pandemic as a transcendental stage, a journey inside ourselves where we can live a transformation and become the best version of ourselves. Above all, all of this spare time help me to think, enhance, rest, enjoy the little things that really matter, to balance the aspects of my life that needed to change. In conclusion it helped me to improve, I focused more on myself and my inwardness, instead of on what happens outside. Currently I only want this difficult situation to end and to go back to sharing with the others love, laughs, hugs, kisses and experiences in general.

What are your musical projects for the close future?

Firstly, one of the things that I learned in this period of thought is not to have expectations for anything. I get carried away by the moment and whatever happens I will do it. Secondly I do not expect anything from music, I do not have an immediate plan. In other words, I only profit of the moment in order to continue being a DJ and expressing myself through music. When the spare time sector will become active again, there will surely be many projects to tell, as of now I invite everyone to follow my program Ecoama Djs every Thursday, through Ibiza Global Radio, together with the amazing people that follow us from all over the world.

How do you see your next summer, both on your everyday life and on the artistic side?

Currently the foresights right are not clear, it really depends on how the pandemic evolves. My intention moreover, on a personal and everyday level, is to go back to Ibiza. I have been away from the island for a year and I need to be there in order to continue developing the projects that still have to come and that I still cannot foresee.
Hoping that Ibiza this summer opens its doors to the nightlife and that between clubs, bars and dance clubs everything gets back to normal. Without this assumption, it is difficult to make any other foresight. I am currently spending the Christmas holidays at Ibiza, with the idea to stay.

What are your hopes for your artistic future at this moment?

My hope is that the pandemic ends, in order to go back to the musical circuit. In the meantime, I hope to continue to work with enthusiasm in music and in other creative projects.
