#1 DoOrnNot “Sparks”
The project “doornot” originates from the union of three Italian artists, SKAF (Alessandro Omiciuolo, Piano and harmonies), Simone Sandre (guitar and bass) and Airbas (Roberto Sant, synth/drums and production). The name “do or not” is inspired to the way the project itself came to life, from a casual bet put on the table during a night in a recording studio back in 2018. The three artists decided to musically re-discuss everything for genuine passion of musical research. The project, through a thorough growth and development process, naturally evolved by mixing the respective musical backgrounds, free from any discographic influence. The tracks flow from Ambient to Downtempo, with no limits on the instruments used; from acoustic to electro, seeking the subsistence of a cinematic nature. Sophisticated rhythms, piano and pads often leading the paths, wide rooms guided by guitars and samplings act as dominant elements of the tracks. Melancholic harmonies, introspective atmospheres and an electro signature, at times rising and becoming invasive, are meant to drive the listener into an emotional experience, dragging imagination into dreamy atmospheres. Listening allows to perceive the relevance of diverse musical genres, stretching from Jazz to electro, and of different artists such as Groove Armada, Moby, Air and Pink Floyd.
