Villahangar’s 2022 continues in style. Here we are at the second release of the new year, Hayibo EP signed by Maxi Meraki and which marks his debut for the label.
Maxi Meraki is a Belgian artist, born in Kortrijk in the early 90s. He studied and lived in Antwerp for ten years and now lives in the Brussels capital region. His sound is a true symbiosis between the sound of the old school and the new melodic rhythms: connections and references, in a continuous game, between the raw disco rhythms and the melodic house, enriched by afro touches.
Maxi Meraki thus launches a new EP consisting of three tracks: “Hayibo”, “Now You Know”, and “Motea”.

The title, that of the EP, full of meaning, and which aims at great goals: Hayibo, which in South African means “incredible”, is exactly the feeling you get listening to the song. The three tracks, all with their own meaning, lead back to different atmospheres, carefully desired and researched with a great work of continuous improvement.

Thus, the first, “Hayibo”, which gives its name to the EP, with a pressing rhythm, sees melodic lines protagonists able to evoke high levels of happiness with a coherent atmosphere that winds through a journey of synths and piano harmonies, while the second, “Now You Know” thanks to dynamic and energetic sounds indicates the awareness of having achieved victory.
Finally, the last, “Motea”, tells of power combined with pleasant sensations given the literal meaning of ‘power through pleasure’, with a killer groove that leads to melodic drift and carrying out a drama in low tones invites you not to stop dancing accompanying until the early hours of the morning.
