MATT SAWYER “RENDERING”
Villahangar continues 2023 with its third release of the new year: the label launches on February 24th “Rendering”, the new track by one of its founders, Matt Sawyer. Italian, Matteo Saverio Cacciola, born in 1986, DJ and producer, manages the #MusicInTheAir Podcast at 360 degrees and is producer and creator of the contents of the Blog villahangar.com.
Matt returns to Villahangar after almost two years since the last EP, “Cloud’s Song” EP of 2021, endowed with an important appeal and supported by Solomun and by Sparrow & Barbossa.
His numerous continuous projects see the collaboration and are supported all over the world by international artists. Matt Sawyer works tirelessly to spread his recognizable and highly sought after sound, reserving a prominent place for the importance he intends to give to the artists with whom he collaborates and to their music.
His remix of “Mbodiene” by Everything Counts on MoBlack Records, the artist’s most downloaded song on Traxsource, reached the TOP100 of Beatport Afro House.
Two of his electronic tracks on BornToLive have been supported by major DJs: “Spill The Tea” by DJ CHUS and “Simplify” by Solomun.
His Villahangar remix of Knowhat’s “Tribalistars” was played by Black Coffee on the Keinemusik Radio Show, included in the Keinemusik crew’s Spotify playlist and played by Brina Knauss on M2O in the DJMAG Session program. The song “Strange People”, released on Click Records, was on Black Coffee’s Spotify playlist.
Last year’s “Momento” was immediately in the playlists of international DJs: Solomun always played the song in the closing ’22 of his Solomun + 1 at Pacha.
Matt in recent years in addition to the production / recording side has shared the console with artists of the caliber of Frankie Knucles, Bob Sinclar, Black Coffee, Guy Garber, David Morales, Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, Erik Morillo, Kungs and many others.
His musical style since 2015 has welcomed a whole new path. Matt was already present in the music scene previously under the name Mavee, Today, under the sign of courage and experimentation, embraces progressive-melodic sounds with hints and ethnic nuances, steel drums and a lot of 90s culture.
Matt Sawyer with Rendering lives a new personal path that becomes musical: a starting overture, to which around the drop and the piano turn drums and pressing rhythms are modeled.
A courageous experimentation after the one in “Behind the sun”, a song together with ManuEl of Cloud’s Song EP: a psychedelic melody continues to evolve, but appeared magically, for a turn towards another surprising and unexpected direction.
Created over several years, inspired by the piano turns of classics from a ten-year archive, the track starts without any main riff, only atmosphere and waiting, and after the right squaring of sounds, the melody is enriched with multiple influences.
A track that is the result of a series of life experiences, beautiful or not, formative: the beginning of a new path where the freedom to express oneself in all honesty is told, with a sincere and disenchanted look.
