Today for the MusicInTheAir Podcast Viel returns, 28-year-old Italian dj & producer born and raised in Monza, very close to Milan, where he lives.

Viel began his career as a DJ in 2011, performing in various clubs and events in northern Italy such as Tunnel Club (MI), Hollywood (MI), Byblos (MI), Alcatraz (MI) and Nameless Music Festival (LC).

Subsequently, he began to actively take part to events related to Milan Fashion and Design Week: in 2018 he was the official Dj for Dubai Fashion Week in the United Arab Emirates.

Viel’s sound fluctuates between Afro & Organic House with a touch of Deep & Tech. He says: “To this day I still can’t pin down a specific genre. I love all of the Afro and Organic House scene, including their sub-genres. It comes naturally to me to express my music considering these influences. If I look at the past, I’ve come a long way, but there are still many steps to take”.

Thanks to his releases, he has received positive feedbacks from Black Coffee, Joseph Capriati, Themba, Facundo Mohrr, Sasha and many others.

Viel has worked a lot with the Mozambican label Mos of The Moon, with Individual Music by Mike Dem and Warner Music Italy. Last year he released on Mos of the Moon with Kid Bamboo – If You Ever Remix featuring Enoo Napa, and with Joy Kitikonti & 00Zicky – Never Ending Remix, featuring No Rush IT.

About his most recent projects, he says: “Currently, in addition to my personal projects as an artist, I’m focused on developing online networks for myself and for all fans of the Afro and Organic House genre. In addition to Italy, I am developing activities in France and North Africa”.

Do you still live in Monza?

Certainly yes, I love the peace of this city that’s at the same time so close to Milan

Do you have favorite artists / DJs / producers? And why?

I don’t define myself as a fan boy. To be particularly impressed by an artist, it is essential to attend a live experience. In this case a dj set or a masterclass would help a lot to empathize with the artist. The last artist I had the pleasure to meet personally was Joachim Pastor, at ADE 2022, during his masterclass. Great personality and a very intriguing musical technique.

What are your plans for the present and the immediate future? Do you have any new projects coming up?

I’ve been working on very interesting and stimulating projects lately. Can’t say more.

What can you tell us musically about your Podcast for Villahangar? How did you structure your podcast?

This mix was created exclusively for Villahangar. I care a lot about the music selection and I always prefer to record live with the console.
