#MusicInTheAir Podcast hosts this week :
STEREO BEACH
For today’s #MusiciInTheAir Podcast it’s again the turn of Stereo Beach, Villahangar’s project of a bolder and more visionary nature.
Stereo Beach in three words: experimentation, creativity, courage. Fearful musical fantasies, open to the most open-minded, in a mix of downtempo and techno, deep house and chill out.
For this week we take a bit of the situation of the moment regarding the reopening of clubs and the restart of events, in the current phase of the global Covid 19 pandemic that in the last two years has put the entire music sector in difficulty, which by its nature lives on discos and live events, forcing a stop on all fronts. A stop that has experienced several phases: from the total block, to the – timid – restart, and then move on to a new break, and now, the engine seems to start again, albeit with some uncertainty and still some last minute cancellations.
The epidemiological situation is stable, certainly the contagion data are always present but do not arouse particular concern in terms of crowding with intensive care: many events, in fact, many concerts, and many evenings are scheduled again, even if it is not yet time for full return to 100% normal. We are certainly not entirely out of the pandemic, but thanks to the vaccination coverage that causes the initial drama to turn into milder and completely treatable symptoms, we are experimenting with an attempt to live with the virus without necessarily blocking the activities that support the national music sector.
Worldwide, there are several strategies, as also witnessed by the guest artists of Villahangar’s MusicInTheAir Podcast. Coming from all over the world and spread on international territory, they provide us weekly with what is the real pulse of the situation, and the cases are different: initially forced to a total stalemate massively, they focused on productions. And everyone, according to their own country’s rules regarding disco openings, continued to play in clubs as much as they could.
One thing is certain: for this Easter In Italy and abroad, three very intense weekends between clubs and festivals are standing out on the horizon as have not been seen in a long time. In Italy are active Milan, Brescia but also the mountains such as Livigno, the coast and beaches such as Liguria, Jesolo, Lignano Sabbiadoro, and those of the Romagna Riviera such as Riccione, Rimini, and even Gabicce. For the cities, Bologna, Rome, Lecce, Naples, Palermo, Cecina (Livorno), Pontedera (Pisa), Gallipoli.
Abroad, in Switzerland music resumes living but also in large metropolises such as London, cities such as Madrid, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Dortmund in Germany.
And without forgetting that in Indio, California, the famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is taking place. But Ibiza will be the big litmus test of the real restart: the programming coming in the coming weeks will be confirmed to us and it will give us the answers, in the hope for everyone that everything will really return to normal more and more.
