After Cristina Molina, Tania Moon and Ivan G, today is the first time for another artist that is part of the radio show “Ecoama” of Pure Ibiza Radio:
Robby Castellano, class of 1986, dj since the end of the 90s.
He has always been passionate about house music, the turnover in his path was in 2003 when, renovating his music style, he made it his genre of election, completely carried off by its fascinating and sophisticated sounds.
In 2004 he signed a contract with the electro, minimal, tribal, lounge and chill out label Unistory Music based in Bergamo since 2005. An important step that allowed him to begin and give prominence to his projects all over the world: he therefore started to publish his tracks on I-Tunes, Beatport, Deezer, Amazon and many other online music platforms.
Afterwards, year after year, his always more numerous collaborations with many deejays led him to score another contract with the label Sine Die.
In 2008 he moved to Brighton, England, and began to get close to the London clubs.
In London he had the chance to perform on international stages and during his staying he met Benny Benassi and Matt Samuels.
In 2009 he moved back to Italy, ready for new projects and collaborations.
He met and worked with Tommy Vee (“Stay”), Simon Faz (“Feel it”), Rob Roar (“Slam 303”) and many others.
During spring 2011 he remixed a successful project from 2007 called “Outwork ft. Mr Gee-Electro”.
In September of the same year he published a remix of “Paranaue” of Ricky Du Bra.
In 2012 he published a new song with Gamma DJ called “Sensitivity”, with the special collaboration of Dhany, Benassi Bross’s singer, who appeared in many of their albums such as “Every Single Day”, “Make Me Feel”, “Hit My Heart”, and “Rocket In The Sky”.
“Sensitivity” caught the attention of the international dj and producer Paolo Aliberti, who decided to publish it with the label “Swonk Music”.
Robby Castellano boasts today more than one hundred tracks all over the world.
In 2019 he collaborated with the label Redspace Sound.
In summer 2020 the album “Life Rave” was published with house sounds and a progressive mix. Always in the same year was released the single “Atmos” which registered over 60.000 views on YouTube.
This year he released the single “Pyramids” supported by the label Suprematic, that works with house and techno artists such as Maya Jane Coles.
In April was released the single “Castle” with Soundteller Records of Warsaw, Poland: a track with deep sounds, dark nuances and some suggestions of a progressive melody.
How long have you been collaborating with Ecoama Radio Show for? And why did you choose to collaborate with Ecoama?
It is my first episode with Ecoama Radio Show and I am really excited. I decided to collaborate with Ecoama thanks to Cristina Molina and the musical genre that the Radio offers.
When and how was your first encounter with music?
From an early age I listened to all the 70s and 80s music. I listened to a lot of radio and I wanted to understand how DJs could mix. Therefore in 1999 I started to approach vinyl and then in 2002 I realized that my way was house music thanks to the sound of the DJ Claudio Coccoluto and the unmistakable bass of Giorgio Moroder.
Which was the key meeting that changed your path?
House music from the UK (Defected). Claudio Coccoluto from Italy. And the songs by Giorgio Moroder, especially the bass of the song “I Feel Love“.
What genre do you associate yourself with and how would you define your sound?
Deep house and all its derivatives. I could define my sound as harmonious that gives space to the groove, with pressing bass touches and refined melody.
Music transmits emotions. Which are the ones that you want to convey with your music?
With my music I would like to convey positive emotions. I would like to enable the listener to fantasize with the mind and “go around the world” through the ears.
How was your podcast born?
It was born with the desire to never turn off the music. To give the possibility to those who follow me in my events to always listen to me thanks to the internet, at any time and when they want.
What does it mean for you to be able to spread your music with Villahangar?
It means giving voice to the musical genre that I really appreciate: Deep House with all its facets. And make everyone understand that you can listen to house music whenever you want at any time. Thanks.
