#MusicInTheAir Podcast hosts this week : DIO S
The artistic journey of the Greek Dio S began in 1995, starting to play the records of his collection,
the result of his great passion for music.
The soul of house music and the the energy of early progressive was evident immediately, enriched by a touch of techno music. Over the years, God S has refined his experience at the consoles in Greece, his country, dividing the scene with DJs like Kosmas, Elias Tzikas, Steve Mill, Nikos Diamantopoulos, Mikele, Thodoris Triantafyllou, Adrianos Papadeas and many others.
In 2005 he started getting into production, always trying to learn more and more about the sound to make it completely unique and personal.
Electronic music was the main influence and great inspiration for him, with artists such as James Holden, Pryda, Sasha, Craig Armstrong, Hans Zimmer. Thanks to their massive influence, he created tracks ready for the dancefloor, but with more of a depth, making it possible to sound equally good at home.
After 2008 he released his first vinyl tracks on Method and Get Weird, plus more digital releases to Sol Selectas, Sound Avenue, Shango, Iboga, OneDotSixtyTwo, Stripped, Movement, Per-Vurt, Maktub, Epsilon Trax, Sick Watona & Baroque.
His music production has received excellent feedback and support from Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Lee Burridge, Sabo, Tripswitch, Kidnap Kid, Groove Armada, Eric Prydz, Logiztik Sounds, Kosmas, Shawn Mitiska, Cid Inc, Markus Schulz and many other DJs known appreciated it.
He has collaborated with many labels: Sol Selectas, Sound Avenue, Shango, Get Weird, Iboga, Onedotsixtwo, Per-Vurt, Stripped, Soundteller, Baroque, Method, Epsilon Tra, Movement, BCSA, BC / T, Stellar Fountain and many others.
“Cayo Largo” is his downtempo project, with 4 albums already on the record market.
What about his inspirational artists? Many other DJs and producers on the international scene such as Kosmas, Nick Warren, Armen Miran. In particular Kosmas, his dear friend, is a source of inspiration and advice for everything related to music, production or DJ sets.
