New #MusicInTheAir Podcast, new artist making his debut for Villahangar:
today the label hosts a DJ of thirty years of experience: Alessandro Bucci, better known as Ale Bucci, very active for some time in the Milanese nightlife.
Dj by profession since the early 90s, with his long career he has consolidated his position as a real point of reference in the world of the Milanese night: a true trend setter, able to understand trends before they become such, he has lived different eras, witnessing the multifaceted path of musical genres in the clubs of one of the most important metropolises in the world carrying high the flag of his genre of reference: house music.
Combining impeccable technique, high-level musical taste and humility, he has carefully built his DJ sets over time, interpreting them in step with the times and in line with the evolution of tastes and musical trends on a global and local level, that of the difficult audience, international and demanding, of the famous capital of Italian fashion.
Speaking of the present, Ale Bucci is a DJ and resident of many clubs: among the most important consoles of his current artistic career there are The Club Milano, The Beach Milano, Terrazza Duomo 21 Milano and the Beach Club of Forte dei Marmi.
Speaking of the past, it is essential to remember that Ale Bucci was also the DJ of the greatest splendor of Hollywood and Casablanca in Milan, as well as being still a special guest in the best Italian and Iberian realities.
For him, it is essential to be at the same time both avant-garde and always endowed with an eye for the musical past that has given him his current “laurel wreath” of nightlife.
Who are your reference artists/DJs/the ones you admire the most?
Solomun, H.O.S.H
How have you seen the world of the Milanese night grow and change in your personal experience?
If we talk at a general and non-musical level, surely the clientele of my beginnings was a more “sectorial” clientele, “connoisseurs” of the world of the night who participated in the evenings and chose the place also based on the musical proposal and the DJ present in the console. I think this in Milan has been lost, you see kids who go after the fashions of the moment but if you ask them what is a musical genre they absolutely do not know how to answer.
How do you think the genres and the most popular clubs of Italian / Milanese night life have changed over time?
I reconnect to before, the identity of the premises has been lost, we adapt to what are the fashions: the guys follow the social media, what the influencer of the moment says. If I like house music but hip hop is fashionable, I go to the club where they make me feel hip hop, it doesn’t matter that the DJ who plays hip hop is a kid and in the club next door I have an international name of house music. There is no musical taste, there is no “ear”, you only follow the wave.
In your opinion, with the reopenings of the clubs of this moment, what has changed compared to the pre-pandemic era?
From a musical point of view little and nothing. But there is a great desire to go out and vent a year of imprisonment. You would also go out every evening, there is no start or weekend, the important thing is to stay outside and have fun. Perhaps respect for this world in spite of everything has worsened.
