Leo Guardo feat. Tabia – Mbokodo
THE REMIXES by Hanna Hais, La Santa, Eisor and Breeze and The Sun
In the summer of 2021 Villahangar released the first track by Leo Guardo, DJ, music producer and sound engineer of Italian origin who currently lives in Melbourne: “Mbokodo Feat. Tabia”, with a rhythm capable of evoking overwhelming South African and more electronic atmospheres, thanks to melodic elements with pads and synths in perfect harmony with Tabia’s fascinating voice.
A track with an important and powerful message, able to excite and in the texts raise important and social issues, and that pays homage to the South African continent in name and sensations: the term Mbokodo, title of the track, in South Africa often refers to the saying “Strike a woman, strike a rock”. Representing the strength and courage of South African women, and with them those of the whole world.
Today, in autumn 2021, Villahangar releases Mbokodo Feat. Tabia’s Remix by Leo Guardo by four exceptional artists: Hanna Hais, La Santa, Eisor and Breeze and The Sun.
An all-female team, symbolically perfect to celebrate a song with a vigorous message entirely dedicated to the strength of women all over the world and called to represent with their own vision another female artist, Tabia, through her voice and her sound environment.
Each artist, called to interpret the track, has created her own personal version according to her own technical and artistic imprint: starting with Hanna Hais, from Paris, DJ, producer, singer and songwriter, who has often played “Bayamemeza” and Leo Guardo’s remix of “Amadlozi” by Jabzz Dimitri, both with Tabia.
Continuing to La Santa, Spanish DJ and producer, from Madrid, who tried to convey love, good vibes and respect in her remix,
while the creative from French origins and now resident in Amsterdam Eisor, accepting a new challenge, brought in this song new emotions to reflect her freshness and originality, totally connecting with the values of the song.
Finally, the DJ, producer, musician and guitarist with solid technical knowledge Breeze and The Sun, a creative spirit with a sweet but powerful African nuance that mixes with refinement melodic, emotional and deep rhythmic house sounds, has infused the song with her personal, romantic and passionate touch, in the name of experimentation of which she is a convinced spokesperson.
