#MusicInTheAir Podcast hosts this week : SOCKO
Our journey continues that will lead us to the discovery of various artists [UNDERWATER],
the new special project of Villahangar that points our gaze to the most interesting artists of today,
among brand new talents and names already known and established.
Today it’s up to Socko.
A professional path that revolves around a strong, one passion for Socko, Armenian artist: electronic music.
For this artist, the career started in 2018. He has played ever since in the most part of clubs and events of Armenia and Georgia, becoming very popular at home.
He feels a very strong link with his roots, which greatly influenced him in the formation of his musical style: ethnic, rich of sounds style, wisely dosed.
Another strong point of his music production? The melodies, thanks to which he creates songs with an organic sound, capable of making melancholic atmospheres tangible, sometimes sad, sometimes even more groovy and energetic, but certainly able to take the mind on a fascinating and entertaining journey.
His direction is precise and declared: combining the ethnical compositions of Armenia and Georgia with a very personal vision and interpretation, to let the world know the immense cultural and musical heritage of his Countries.
For Pipe & Pochet label, active since 2016, he released a remarkable album and a single at the beginning of 2020.
Among his many collaborations, with Everything Counts under the pseudonym “Ascetix” for a track released on the French label “And Other Moods” by Roze, and many of his releases with various labels on the international scene: among these, SOL Selecta and MoBlack Records.
For Various Artists [UNDERWATER], he created a mixture of more electronic sounds than usual, always rich in sounds and melancholy but at the same time very energetic, creating a hard and groovy track, with a decisive approach. The secret? Fewer organic instruments and many already darker synths and drums.
Every week Villahangar publishes an interview with the protagonist of the #MUSICINTHEAIR PODCAST to introduce you to the artists he collaborates with.
This time, however, it was not possible due to an international news event involving Socko: the conflict between Armenia and Azerbagian that broke out at the beginning of October.
Deeply saddened Villahangar joins Pipe & Pochet’s concern and total support for Socko, published on social media. With the hope that the bloodshed will end, peace will return soon and Socko will be safe and healthy with his family and can return to focus on music, here is the first track of his album released earlier this year with Pipe & Pochet, named “Survivor”.
