Villahangar continues to welcome new artists for its #MusicInTheAir format.
Today in collaboration with Ecomadjs, it is the turn of Javier Gonzalez’s debut, DJ and producer based in Ibiza.
Long-lived in the panorama of international electronic music, after twenty-five years of experience and having played in the most important locations in Europe, he is a consolidated and recognized artist in the sector worldwide.
His first encounter with music was thirty years ago, at the age of 17, when he started working in Benidorm, in what can be called his first contact with track music.
His, as he himself states, is “a melodic sound always evolving towards a more afro sound that makes people dance and can’t stop doing it”.
He shared the console with the best DJs in the world – any names? Luciano, Solomun, Steve Lawler, Marco Carola, Danny Pincer, Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, Troy Pearce, just to name a few – and has played in Italy, the Netherlands, France, Scotland, Germany, Austria, England, Switzerland, Morocco, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, USA and many other countries around the world.
It is currently a key part of Eet – Esto Es Tulum, the world-renowned Festival in Tulum, Mexico.
Year after year, it is held in the heavenly Mexican Caribbean and combines nature, music, art and cultural exhibitions.
In addition, he is a resident DJ in the best beach club on his island of residence, the Blue Marlin in Ibiza.
And that’s not all. He is resident DJ of the prestigious Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort, and in addition to his sets he combines the production and direction of one of the most important electronic music labels: Monza Ibiza Records, with which he performs in showcase bringing the magic of the most famous island musically to every corner of the world.
How long have you been collaborating with Ecoama Radio Show for? And why did you choose to collaborate with Ecoama?
It is my first time and I hope that there will be many more, through a good friend who put me in touch with them to start collaborating together.
Which was the key meeting that changed your path?
There is no key meeting to report, there is a change of attitude so one day I consider myself a professional artist and I dedicate myself entirely to this.
And I make people happy with the music I have inside.
How do you foresee your summer, both in your everyday life and from an artistic point of view?
This summer, as you all know, it is complicated and with the restrictions due to COVID we will be able to work very little.
What are your hopes for your artistic future at the moment?
My artistic hope for the future is to continue with our “Esto Es Tulum” Festival around the world and continue to make people happy with my music.
Have you recently released or will you release any new music projects in the near future?
Yes, there are several exits waiting to see the light. We continue to work to spread more and more music day after day.
What does it mean for you to be able to spread your music with Villahangar?
It is a pleasure to be able to collaborate with Villahangar and to be able to bring a piece of my music to all its listeners.
